All Saints Centre celebrates 30 years in Norwich

AllSaintsCentre2009: A multi-purpose Christian centre in Norwich , is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and as part of that celebration is having a party on Friday October 23, from 4pm - 7pm.

The trustees at the All Saints' Centre Westlegate, Norwich have invited anyone who has had any association with, or interest in, All Saints' over the years,  to join them for the evening.  People are invited to call in at any time between those hours for hot homemade soup, sandwiches and a selection of other refreshments (including birthday cake!). There will be some live music and an opportunity to look at an archive collection as well as finding out more about the current work and hopes for the future.

All Saints' Centre was founded by Jo Cook in 1979, when a number of church buildings had been declared redundant and she saw a need for somewhere in the city where Christians of all denominations, or none, could serve the community in the name of Christ.

AllSaintsInsideAll Saints', having been a centre of Christian worship for over 600 years is now a centre of Christian hospitality, providing a warm and welcoming place for tourists, shoppers, office workers and those who live alone as well as the homeless.

Visitors can enjoy low-cost and generally home-cooked refreshments, comfy sofas to relax on and an opportunity to buy Christian books and cards and traidcraft goods. There is a meeting room upstairs and the chapel is still used for weekly prayers and special occasions.

Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10.00 am to 4.30 pm

To find out more please about any of the items pop in and ask for Karen or Alison, ring 01603 633726, e-mail: admin@allsaintsnorwich.org.uk  or visit the centre’s website at www.allsaintsnorwich.org.uk
