Christian website is declared of UK significance
Network Norwich & Norfolk has been declared a website of significance and relevance to the UK and of long-term research value, by no less than the
British Library and has been included in its major UK Web Archive project.
The award-winning Christian community website has been selected to participate in the web archiving programme by the British Library, part of the wider UK Web Archiving Consortium
“We select and archive sites to represent aspects of UK documentary heritage and as a result, they will remain available to researchers in the future,” said Curator, Alison Hill. “The British Library works closely with leading UK institutions to collect and permanently preserve the UK web.
“Selected websites are considered to be of long term research value and are chosen to represent a subject of social, political, cultural, religious, scientific or economic significance and relevance to the UK.”
Just over 5,000 websites are currently archived.
Network Norfolk web editor, Keith Morris, said: “We are delighted to have been selected to participate in this prestigious project by the British Library.
“Our website aims to be the number one source of digital information about the Norwich and Norfolk Christian community and we are glad that it has been recognized as a site of significance and relevance to the UK.”
