New Director for Norwich Christian charity

MarkClamp300Mark Clamp has been appointed Director of the Norwich branch of 4Cs, a Christian counselling service, following the departure of Steve Seedall at the end of last year. Jenny Seal reports.

4Cs (Centre for Christian Care and Counselling) provides counselling services from four branches based in Norwich, Dereham, Lowestoft and Wymondham. Mark Clamp, who is based at Dereham Baptist Church, has been running the Dereham branch for two years, and will take on the Norwich post in addition.

4Cs pride themselves on their ethos of equal care for all regardless of circumstance or identity.

Mark said: “We wholeheartedly, open armed, full of love, accept anybody, absolutely anybody, without prejudice. We have never turned anybody away regardless of what they have come to us with. We’ve always extended the hand of love to everybody and anybody regardless.”

Mark is keen for church leaders to refer those in need to the service. He said: “I’m currently on a PR campaign going around churches reminding them that we are here and dispelling myths that there is a long waiting list.” The service is offered at a flexible rate, dependent on what the client is able to pay.

In his new role Mark is looking forward to tackling the challenge of financial sustainability as well as the opportunity of opening further branches of 4Cs in Kings Lynn and Aylsham.

Mark was in the Royal Air Force for 30 years before starting a diploma in counselling in 2004. He is a Youth Counsellor with the Mancroft Advice Project (MAP) and the County Co-ordinator for Christian Vision for Men (CVM).  He recently completed a Masters in Counselling at the University of East Anglia.
