Wymondham churches gather to pray for peace

Over 40 people from half-a-dozen different churches gathered at the Market Cross in the centre of Wymondham on Sunday evening (March 20) to pray for peace.

The time of prayer and Bible readings was organised by Wymondham Baptist Church, but attended by people from most of the churches in the town making it a true ecumenical gathering.

Rev John Potter, minister at Fairland United Reformed Church, Wymondham said: “It’s so important that Christians support all those suffering the effects of the war in Ukraine in prayer. And the gathering of so many people from most of the churches in the town was a way of collectively bringing our concerns to God on behalf of the whole of Wymondham.”

Churches in attendance included: Wymondham Baptist Church, Wymondham Methodist Church, Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury RC church, Fairland United Reformed Church, Hope Church and Wymondham Abbey.
