Gospel growth talk for Norfolk church leaders

The newly formed Norfolk Gospel Partnership is inviting those in church leadership to a networking and training event on the morning of Wednesday 15 June at Holy Trinity Church in Norwich.

This event will feature a talk by Ray Evans, pictured above, on the subject of Equipping Volunteers for Gospel Growth. There will also be an opportunity to hear more about the Norfolk Gospel Partnership, and how churches can partner to shape its vision to support the growth of gospel-centred churches across the county. Participants will then enjoy lunch together and pray with one another.

Ray Evans is the author of Ready Steady Grow (published by IVP) and works for the FIEC, advising on church leadership and healthy church growth. He has led Grace Church in Bedford for over 35 years and under God has seen it grow to 500 regulars on a Sunday.

Rev Andy Rees, pastor of Surrey Chapel in Norwich, and co-chair of Norfolk Gospel Partnership, explains, “It has been a challenging time for churches as we rebuild from the destabilising, stop and start of the past couple of years. Volunteers are a key part of this and if your experience is anything like ours, some have left the church, some have stepped back from key positions alongside some new people having arrived. I’m looking forward to hearing Ray's wisdom and experience, on how to work best with church family and to release the gifts God has given for the growth of his kingdom.”

All church leaders in Norfolk are welcome to the event which begins with refreshments at 9.30am and concludes with lunch at 12.30pm, and places can be booked via the Holy Trinity Church website.

NGP LogoRev Matthew Price, Vicar of St Mary Magdalene Church in Gorleston and member of the Norfolk Gospel Partnership steering committee, said, “I believe Norfolk Gospel Partnership has a key role to play in strengthening and supporting the growth of churches across the county.  It can often feel very isolating in church leadership, and I have found the leaders events - like the upcoming one with Ray Evans - a really encouraging time as we bring together leaders from across denominations but with the same vision for gospel growth.  I look forward to meeting many sisters and brothers in Christ there on 15 June!”
