Norwich Diocese launches digital Advent calendar

The Diocese of Norwich, is set to launch a digital Advent calendar for 2022, leading up to Christmas.

Rev Canon Susanna Gunner, who has collated the Advent Calendar said: "It is easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the excitement of this festive season, especially after two Covid affected Christmases, and forget about what really matters.

"The hope with this free digital Advent Calendar is that everyone that signs up can take some time to reflect and be uplifted by some of the wonderful things that people in our region are doing to care for one another."

The calendar is designed to explore pastoral care and celebrates a different way of reaching out in loving concern. Contributors have been drawn from all over the county and showcase a wide range of ways of responding to many sorts of need. From running a school uniform bank, hosting refugees, visiting the lonely and offering warm spaces to those who can’t afford to heat their homes.

It’s easy to subscribe at dofn.org/advent and then every morning of Advent, a new calendar entry will ping into your email box starting on Advent Sunday, 27 November 2022.

Susanna said: “I hope those who subscribe will be as touched and inspired as I have been by many of this year’s stories.”
