Norwich churches create Community Hot Spots 

St Matthew’s in Thorpe Hamlet and St Stephen’s in the city centre have become two of the latest churches to create warm community spaces this winter. 

“A Community Hot Spot is a space where people can connect socially,” explains June Webb from St Matthew’s, “have a hot drink and chat and get some food and support.” 
 
St Matthew’s will be open every Wednesday from 10.30am until 12.30pm. It has free parking and are a safe space for children and their carers, with toys, books and an indoor play area. It is asking for a donation, if possible, for food and drink but suggests that people just pay what they can.

From Sunday January 8, St Stephen’s Church will also open as a Community Hot Spot. Bring a hobby, share a hobby, or come along just to be with others. The church will be open Sundays 12pm to 4pm and serving simple meals and hot drinks for a suggested donation starting at just £1. There will be some games out and children will be welcome to come play with the toys in the café. 
 
St Stephens is in the city centre at Rampant Horse Street, NR2 1QP.
