Growing Good
Opportunity to join Growing Good online

The Growing Good course will be held online for churches in Norfolk and Lowestoft area. The course consists of five sessions to help churches grow in outreach and relationship with their communities.

Imagine Norfolk Together will be hosting the five weekly evening sessions of Growing Good, starting on May 7, which are designed to help churches grow in knowledge of their local communities, in confidence in their mission as a church, and in relationships with local people and organisations.

The course is based on three years of research by Theos and the Church Urban Fund (CUF) which looked at over 60 churches all across England, to better understand how social action, discipleship, and growth fit together on the ground. The Growing Good course is designed and produced by the to help churches connect the dots between social action, discipleship, and growth. The course combines biblical reflection and practical insight to equip churches to grow in faithfulness and fruitfulness.

Recent evaluation of the impact of the course has shown that for churches who have used it, 79% are more aware of the needs in their community. 80% are more aware of the strengths and assets in their community. 68% are more confident about sharing their faith through social action and 92% have taken action to further integrate social action and discipleship in their context. Participants commented that it was: “extremely well put together and very accessible" and “gave those who did it greater confidence to be salt and light in the community.”

Polly Taylor, Project Manager at CUF says “The Growing Good Toolkit is for local churches who are committed to holistic growth and want to integrate social action, discipleship, and growth. The toolkit can be used by churches of all traditions. Whether your church is big or small, urban or rural, well-established or brand new, we believe this resource is relevant for you and your community.”

The online course is open to church leadership teams of any denomination. It is asked that at least three people from each church or group of churches commits to attending so that discussion and planning related to their local context can take place. The sessions will take place on Zoom from 7.30pm - 9.00pm on the following dates:
