No WFH for Network Norfolk team in Indie News Week

During Indie News Week, from June 3 to 9, Network Norfolk content editors held drop-in sessions in church cafes across Norfolk.

Helen News weekThe Network Norfolk team is Keith, Anna, Tony, Peter and Helen, who all write articles and co-ordinate other content for the website.

The team is dispersed across the region geographically, with each member covering the closest regions to their homes.

Usually working from home, Anna, Helen and Tony swapped their work from home setup to be based in  local church-run cafes in Great Yarmouth, Sheringham and Norwich. They were ready to talk to anyone locally who had a story to share or who wanted tips on how to promote their church or organisation in the media.

Helen said, "I was based in the cafe at St Stephens in Norwich and it was lovely to see the space so well used, and to have some positive conversations with some of the local communities who use the cafe.

"It's a reminder that there are so many great things going on in the Christian community, and these stories don't always get told - often because people are so busy getting on with their roles and don't really think they have a story worth telling. That's where the Network Norfolk team can help, as we can ask questions, write up articles and edit photos to tell important and encouraging stories about how God is working in the local Christian community."

If you missed the opportunity this week but would like to host one of our journalists for a future such drop-in training session, please email keith.morris@networknorwich.co.uk

Backed by the Public Interest News Foundation, Indie News Week, from June 3 to 9, is a moment for communities across the country to celebrate local news and to shine a spotlight on the importance of truly independent news outlets within their communities.

Under the banner of ‘No News is Bad News’, Indie News Week will comprise an online, print and in-person rollout with community events run by independent and independent local news outlets up and down the UK, including by Network Norfolk.

During the week, readers can read independent news stories about the Norfolk Christian community, meet the journalists who write the headlines and pick up some free tips on how to more effectively promote their church, charity, campaign or appeal in the media.

They will also have the opportunity to make a donation to help ensure the future of Network Norfolk - with the promise of their donation being doubled by the Indie News Fund. So if you want to support us by making a donation, during June is the best time to do it.
