Election prayers at Sheringham church

Lighthouse Community Church in Sheringham is holding a series of prayer meetings on Sunday evenings this month to pray for the forthcoming General Election.

Everyone is invited to come and pray as the nation decides which candidates to vote for on 4 July.

Ian Savory, from the Lighthouse leadership team, said, “With the upcoming general election we will be praying for our church and nation, and for the right candidate for MP for North Norfolk. It has never been more important to elect God’s choice of MP’s to govern this country in these turbulent times. We do need to seek His guidance as we decide who to vote for.”

GENERAL ELECTIONThe candidates for North Norfolk are: Steffan Aquarone for the Liberal Democrats, Duncan Baker for the Conservatives, Cathy Cordiner-Achenbach for Labour, Elizabeth Anne Dixon for the Greens, and Malcolm Patchett for Reform UK.

The prayer meetings have been called ‘if people…’ as the theme will be based on 2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven. And I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The remaining meetings will run from 6pm to 6.45pm on Sundays 16 and 23 June, at Lighthouse Community Church, 62 Cromer Road, Sheringham, NR62 8RT.
