House of Genesis needs a part-time support worker 

The House of Genesis is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Support Worker to contribute to the day-to-day running of the charity, which provides accommodation to homeless adult men in Norwich. 

The House of Genesis is a small registered Christian charity based in Thorpe St Andrew and on the east side of Norwich. We offer supported accommodation to homeless adult men, most of whom are ex-offenders. For more information about our work, see our website www.thehouseofgenesis.org
HouseOfGenesisLogo450We are seeking a part-time Support Worker to join our small staff team. 
The person appointed will need to:
  • be in sympathy with our Christian ethos
  • understand the complexities of dealing with our client group
  • have the ability to engage with homeless and vulnerable adults
  • possess good, basic computer skills to maintain necessary records
  • be self-motivated and work on their own initiative
  • be able to be assertive when necessary
  • have a current driving licence and be willing to drive our Transit van
  • live within a few miles of our Thorpe St Andrew (Norwich) premises 

This post may require a small amount of weekend work (monthly) and being on call for out-of-hours issues (approximately one week per month). The post is for 20 hours a week. Remuneration is £9.66 per hour, rising to £10.41 after an initial 6 months probationary period.
