Untitled design (11)Bishop blesses Norfolk Christian care home

A Christian Care Home in Norwich has been blessed by the Bishop of Lynn following a recent refurbishment.

The Rt Revd Dr Jane Steen visited Corton House to meet with the residents and staff and bless the Home following its recent refurbishment.

Corton House was established over 70 years ago as the first purpose built, voluntarily run care home for older people in England. It was hailed as a pioneer in social care and today continues to operate as a not-for-profit organisation with a Christian ethos. The team’s mission is to provide excellent, loving care and support for older people, in line with Christian values.

Bishop Jane said;
“It was a pleasure to visit the residents at Corton House and to be able to listen to them and to pray with them.  There is such a wealth of Christian living among residents and a great sense of joyful calm in the House.”

The whole building has recently been refurbished with bespoke-designed interiors including a light and airy open plan foyer, café bistro area, and new flooring, lighting and paintwork throughout.
