Early Years Supervisor at First Steps in Ashill 

A qualified and experienced Early Years Supervisor is needed at First Steps Fountain of Life Pre-School, Ashill, for adoption cover.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at a small, friendly and well-respected setting.

The successful candidate will hold a Level 3 approved Early Years qualification and have a minimum of two years’ experience working in an early years setting, or two years’ other suitable experience.

First Steps is a small, term-time only setting with a close knit, friendly staff team and close links with parents/carers. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a temporary, part time role in an established setting, working with and supported by other experienced staff.

The role involves; observing and engaging with young children at play and providing safe, high-quality education and care for children aged 2 to 5 years, having responsibility for the setting and for staff, acting as a point of contact for parents/carers, acting as keyworker and a point of contact for safeguarding concerns and for discussions with external agencies as needed, planning for next steps in learning and assessment of progress as well as ensuring early years standards are met.  The successful candidate needs to demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic manner towards supporting young children in their exploration of the world, and a willingness to support the Christian ethos of the pre-school. 

Hours are likely to be max. 24 per week for a fixed term until June 2025, although it is possible this could be longer (for example to the end of the academic year).  Actual sessions to be discussed at interview.

Start date September 2024 - Part time
 Pay – £12.50 – £13.50 per hour
The pre-school is open Monday 9am to 3pm, Tuesday 9am to 3pm, Wednesday 9am to 3pm and Friday 9am to 12noon
