Thanks for your support for Network Norfolk

Thank you to all of our readers who have shown their support for Network Norfolk during Indie News Week and the whole of June, and now is the final chance for others to join them.

The Indie News Fund has promised to match donations, up to £1,500 total, during June only, and we are very nearly at the maximum, so thanks for your support.

Network Norfolk has been the premier source of independent Christian news in Norwich and Norfolk for the past almost 19 years and we have been able to provide this service thanks to the support from our readers, advertisers and partner.

Network Norfolk took part in the first-ever Indie News Week in early June, backed by the Public Interest News Foundation, as a moment for communities across the country to celebrate local news and to shine a spotlight on the importance of truly independent news outlets within their communities.

Network Norfolk journalists held in-person events in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Cromer to meet our readers and hear their stories.

Publisher Keith Morris said: "It was great to meet more of our readers and pick up some great story leads. We have been writing stories about the Norfolk Christian community for almost 19 years and your support is vital for our success and future. Our coverage of churches across Norfolk holding General Election hustings is just one very recent example.

"The Indie News Fund has offered to double any donations made to us during the month of June, so if you appreciate what we do and are able to support us, then now would be an ideal time to make a donation. We would love to reach our target of £1,500 in donations during June, which would then be matched, but we are just short of this total at the moment."

Jonathan Heawood, PINF's Executive Director, said: “Indie news providers are the unsung heroes of local communities across the UK, unearthing stories and informing their audiences. Through Indie News Week, we want to say thank you to the enterprising journalists and editors who make up this sector and help them connect even more deeply with their communities.

“The ‘No News is Bad News’ campaign is founded on the belief that a well-informed community is more able to act together to shape its own future, that local news is fundamental to a healthy democratic society and invaluable in helping to create strong communities.”
